Stocks
We gladly accept gifts of appreciated stocks. Donating stock directly to CRM can provide 50% more funds than simply selling your shares and contributing the proceeds. There’s no better way to put the full value of your stocks to work to provide safe shelter, nourishing meals and Christ-centered programs to help end the cycle of homelessness.
Non-cash assets like stocks represent nearly 90% of American wealth. That means you can make a charitable impact even if you don’t have excess cash flow.
Your gift will help men and women trapped by the crippling reality of poverty and homelessness.
Remember, if your stocks have appreciated in value since you purchased them, you’ll avoid capital gains tax.
It’s easy to make a gift of stock:
- Ask your broker to perform an “electronic transfer” of the mutual fund or individual stock shares you wish to donate.
